In all honesty, The Artist was a shoe in for this award from the start. When I first saw the trailer for this film on TV, I thought that it was for an old film that was being re-released. When I found out the truth I was very intrigued at the fact that this was a very accurate period film that not only encompassed the scenery but also the film styles of the silent movie era.
